Genpact began operations in 1997 as a business unit of General Electric. Genpact became an independent company in January 2005 to share our process expertise and unique DNA in managing lean clients outside of GE, then in August 2007. We became a publicly traded company. As of December 31, 2005, we expanded the business from over 19,000 employees and annual revenues of $ 491.90 million to more than 90,000 employees and annual revenues of $ 3.52 billion as of December 31, 2019.
In Poland, Genpact has offices in 2 cities, Krakow and Lublin and employs around 800 people. Our first site in Lublin opened in 2008 and is having now ~200+ employees serving a customer base of CPG, Life Sciences & Healthcare as well as Manufacturing. Our employees help drive business at scale for Western & Eastern Europe as well as specific focus on Eastern Europe markets in domains as Finance & Accounting, Order to Cash, IT Services supporting 8 languages.
Our Krakow center was opened in 2012 as a strategic aquisition and back then our 350+ employees helped deliver and digitaly transform processes in domains such as Finance & Accounting, Order to Cash, Source to Pay, Claims, ERP support and programming for our customers businesses ranging from Consumer Goods & Retail, Life Sciences & Healthcare as well Insurance domain. Currently we have 600 employees in Krakow supporting Global customers in 16 delivery languages.
