Sunday, midd-day. Rude staff. Weird atmosphere. Dirty plates and plates on unoccupied tables. We were refused entry on Sunday despite pre-booking. ( reason for booking: 10 year old was part of the company of three ) . Despite sending booking request email 10 days ahead we were not welcome. The member of staff was unhelpful and rather rude, she called for a manager who stepped in just to inform us that the booking email “probably went to spam inbox” … and that we should call with booking ( their Facebook website offers booking by email though) To my reply that I did called repeatedly a few days in row pre- visit, the manager said that I was probably calling at wrong times!! ( I have called mid-day) . The company: one child, one adult and one elderly adult, despite fact that there were plenty of free tables available was turned away.
The reason we wanted to visit is that we are cat lovers, we own cats ourselves, my child knows very well how to behave around cats. All that was pointed out to the manager in polite and friendly manner but she asked us to leave immediately.
My child was excited about the Zen café and was looking forward to the visit for months. He was deeply saddened and upset by the incident on the day of visit, it left him in tears.
