Tzw. drag queen show. I, co zupełnie normalne, zaczęły się pytania, które można ogólnie podsumować krótkim WTF? ERG PROWD raczył popełnić maila, który tylko pogorszył sytuację, dosłownie :
On behalf of the Warsaw PrOWd and Inclusivity Leadership Group we address a recent incident that occurred after our company's OW Day event in Warsaw. As you may be aware, an anonymous statement was made regarding the inclusion of Drag Queen performers at the last firm’s event on #ask-Nick channel.
If you are not aware of it – this is the channel, where Nick (our CEO) is replying to varieties of comments, which can be seen by all our colleagues across the globe. If you are interested -> follow the link to see the comment and response from Nick/ other people LINK .
Our company values diversity and inclusion, and we believe that all people should be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We recognize that being part of the LGBTQ+ community is not a choice, but a part of who we are. It is a culture that deserves to be celebrated, not denigrated.
Let us be clear from the beginning: such behave does not ally with our company values and culture. The LGBTQ+ community is an integral part of our society, and we stand firmly with them. Homophobia, transphobia and discrimination have no place in our workplace or in society as a whole. Furthermore, we do not agree with the notion that anyone was forced to participate in the PrOWd presentation or watch the Bingo Game. If a topic/presentation does not fall under someone's interests, it would be acceptable to grab a cup of coffee, or a piece of cake on a side. We respect everyone's right to choose whether or not to participate in these particular presentations (prepared by PrOWd) during the OW or any other company events. It is important to note that diversity and inclusion are at the core of our values, and we strive to create an environment where everyone feels respected and valued. We understand that some people may have different beliefs and opinions, but we cannot allow these beliefs to become a reason for discrimination or hate speech, especially on the whole international scale, where Warsaw office become at center of attention. As you may guess – not from positive side. We could have thanks for the PR, but we would like to thank you for showing us the areas of problems in our office, and what we can done better on this regard. So, thank you!
Most importantly, the global community on the top with leadership cohort state -- that such comment (made regarding inappropriacy of the drag queen performances and slander regarding forcing to watch it) is not only offensive and homophobic, but also shows a lack of understanding and appreciation for the importance of diversity and inclusion which is strongly highlighted across our company: in our values, politics and way of work. We believe, that our events should be a celebration of all cultures and identities, and we will not tolerate any attempt to marginalize or exclude any group! LGBTQ+ community is a culture. As with any culture, it has its own language, celebrities, and artforms. Showing cultural artforms is something that we frequently do at Oliver Wyman for many different cultures: for Black History Month, Asian and Pacific Islander History Month, and so on. The Drag Bingo event is no exception. What we are seeing as a reaction here is underlying homophobia and transphobia. If we drew a parallel to other cultural events, it could be condemned as racism.
We want to make it clear that our company fully supports the LGBTQ+ community and will continue to promote diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our business. We encourage anyone who has concerns, questions, feedbacks, ideas and struggling to make it professional and reach out to us directly or to our HC (also could be done anonymously). We will make sure to create a safe space for everyone who would like to discuss this with us.
In conclusion, we understand how hurtful and damaging these types of remarks can be, and we want to ensure you are safe here and if anyone require professional, mental or any other support, please reach out to us.
We also would like to remind you that there is a free of charge professional support provided by company that you can find it following the link Employee Assistance Program (sharepoint.com)
We hope that we can learn from this incident and work together to create a more inclusive, divers and safe workplace for all of our employees.
Zakłamanie i podwójne standardy tej firmy maja sporą szansę przejść do legendy. A póki co, to mam tylko takie proste pytanie: kogo, przy takim podejściu, spodziewacie się zatrudnić ?
