About the project
The project focuses on a strategic migration from legacy SAP APO gATP to SAP S/4HANA Advanced Available-to-Promise (AATP), with the goal of modernizing and optimizing order fulfilment and supply chain planning processes.
The role is focused on defining the target functional architecture and solution design for complex order fulfilment scenarios, ensuring seamless integration with SAP SD and broader Supply Chain Planning processes. The project covers advanced AATP capabilities such as Product Allocation, Alternative-Based Confirmation, Advanced Scheduling, Backorder Processing and Advanced Intercompany.
The project also involves analysing existing processes, defining migration and implementation strategies, supporting custom developments and working closely with SAP development and business teams to deliver scalable, future-proof solutions. An important part of the role is establishing internal expertise around highly specialized AATP capabilities and supporting the evolution of the organization's SAP architecture.
Your responsibilities
- Drive migration to SAP S/4HANA, owning functional design and architectural vision for order fulfilment and supply chain planning
- Bridge complex business planning requirements with technical implementation as SME for AATP, Product Allocation, Alternative-Based Confirmation, and Advanced Intercompany scenarios
- Define migration strategy from SAP APO-gATP to S/4HANA AATP, including target functional architecture and implementation roadmap
- Act as functional lead/solution architect prioritizing architectural vision for order fulfillment processes
- Translate complex business needs into functional specifications and guide development teams on custom enhancements (e.g., ABAP, BAdIs, extensions)
- Design and configure S/4HANA AATP capabilities and ensure integration with Sales & Distribution (SD) core processes
- Configure product substitution / Alternative-Based Confirmation (ABC) strategies
- Manage Product Allocation (PAL) & rationing for constrained supply
- Optimize Advanced Scheduling & Backorder Processing (BOP) release and confirmation logic
- Structure Advanced Intercompany (Advanced ICO) cross-entity order streams, drop-shipments, and intercompany logistics
- Integrate core execution flows with Supply Chain Planning operational models (e.g., S&OP, demand/supply balancing)
- Apply structured frameworks and methodologies to decompose ambiguous work into manageable packages
- Diagnose root causes in complex order confirmation networks and planning bottlenecks
- Continuously evaluate modern S/4HANA features and architecture improvements
Our requirements
- Proven deep functional and architectural experience in SAP gATP (APO) and S/4HANA Advanced Available-to-Promise (AATP)
- Experience with S/4HANA migrations
- Deep understanding of Sales & Distribution (SD) process flows and logistics integration points
- Solid background in Supply Chain Planning concepts (demand planning, supply planning, capacity constraints)
- Experience configuring Alternative-Based Confirmation (ABC), Product Allocation & Rationing, Advanced Scheduling, and Advanced Intercompany (ICO)
- Strong background in development/programming to design solutions, read code, and direct ABAP/extensibility efforts
- Experience with OM Partners (OMP) planning tools
- Senior-level presence with exceptional analytical skills and mentoring capability
- Self-starter with curiosity and drive to build organisational capability
- Proven ability to work through complex situations using structured methodologies
