About the project
This role bridges the gap between modern cloud-native software delivery (IT) and industrial shop-floor systems (OT) within highly regulated life sciences environments. The position is responsible for deploying, integrating, validating, and maintaining highly available, secure, and GxP-compliant MQTT-based data pipelines running on Kubernetes, ensuring seamless data flow from physical plant floor assets to enterprise analytical systems.
Your responsibilities
- Deploy, operate, and optimize highly available MQTT platforms on Kubernetes using Helm, Operators, and IaC.
- Configure Kubernetes networking, storage, and MQTT broker performance for reliable industrial workloads.
- Integrate SCADA, MES, Historians, PLCs, and industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP) with MQTT.
- Design secure IT/OT data flows following Purdue Model and ISA-95 principles.
- Support GxP-compliant infrastructure, including CSV, ALCOA+, and audit-ready GitOps deployments.
- Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and ArgoCD/Flux.
- Implement TLS/mTLS, certificate management, Kubernetes RBAC, and MQTT topic access controls.
- Monitor platform health with Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki, and configure proactive alerting.
- Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and support deviation and CAPA investigations.
- Collaborate with IT, OT, Engineering, and Quality teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant platform solutions.
Our requirements
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including Helm, Operators, CRDs, and containerized workloads.
- Experience managing and optimizing MQTT brokers in high-availability environments.
- Knowledge of industrial OT systems and protocols, including OPC UA, Modbus, and Profinet.
- Understanding of GxP/CSV validation processes and ALCOA+ data integrity principles.
- Experience with DevOps and GitOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ArgoCD, or Flux.
- Knowledge of security best practices, including TLS/mTLS, Kubernetes RBAC, and MQTT topic access control.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.
