About the project
We are looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer / Infrastructure Tech Lead to join a project focused on the development, maintenance, and optimization of a complex Microsoft Azure and IT infrastructure environment.
The role combines hands-on Senior Azure Administration / Cloud Engineering responsibilities with Technical Lead ownership. You will be responsible not only for maintaining and developing the Azure environment, but also for designing solutions, making technical decisions, defining infrastructure standards, leading implementations, and supporting other engineers.
The environment covers cloud infrastructure, networking, security, automation, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and the deployment and maintenance of third-party applications across Azure and on-premises environments.
You will work closely with Security, Network, Development, and Data teams, as well as external technology vendors.
Your responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Azure infrastructure in production environments.
- Act as a Technical Lead for Azure and infrastructure-related initiatives.
- Make technical decisions and define standards, best practices, and implementation approaches.
- Design and implement infrastructure using Azure Bicep and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Manage and optimize Azure networking, including connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments.
- Work with Azure Container Apps and support containerized workloads.
- Administer and support Azure SQL and related infrastructure components.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure and application security controls in cooperation with Security teams.
- Support the deployment, integration, and maintenance of third-party/vendor applications in Azure and on-premises environments.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple layers, including application, operating system, network, database, and cloud infrastructure.
- Lead technical implementations and infrastructure changes from design through deployment and operational support.
- Identify opportunities for infrastructure automation, standardization, and optimization.
- Support high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resilience initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues and deliver solutions.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to other engineers.
- Contribute to Azure cost optimization and FinOps / Azure Cost Management activities.
Our requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in IT infrastructure administration, Cloud Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a similar role.
- Strong, hands-on production experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Advanced knowledge of Azure infrastructure and cloud services.
- Practical experience with Azure Bicep and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD.
- Solid knowledge of Azure networking and cloud connectivity.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Container Apps.
- Practical experience with Azure SQL.
- Good understanding of cloud security and infrastructure security principles.
- Experience troubleshooting complex issues across multiple technology layers: application → OS → network → database → cloud.
- Experience working with third-party applications, vendors, and external technology providers.
- Ability to take ownership of technical decisions and lead infrastructure-related initiatives.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Security, Network, Development, and Data.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to mentor engineers and share technical knowledge.
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or SC-300.
- Previous experience as a Tech Lead, Infrastructure Lead, or Cloud Lead.
- Experience with Azure Architecture and solution design.
- Knowledge of Azure Databricks.
- Experience with ITIL practices.
- Experience with Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity (BC), and High Availability (HA).
- Knowledge of Azure Cost Management / FinOps.
- Experience establishing infrastructure standards, architectural guidelines, and engineering best practices.
