Your responsibilities
- Add features, enhancements and fixes to Java based network abstraction and orchestration microservices
- Enhance existing or create new monitoring and metrics dashboards
- Add features, enhancements and fixes to internal monitoring and provisioning tools
Our requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university/college, in your penultimate year of your bachelor’s or master’s degree studies (Graduation between December 2024-September 2025).
- Available to work full-time for the entire duration of the Summer Internship Program (between July to September, depending on your school system) .
- Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, business proficiency in English.
- Ability to create accurate and punctual reports, deliver presentations, and share information and ideas with others.
- Analytically driven and detail-oriented, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package and aptitude to learn new tools.
- Good attitude and willingness to learn
- Good programming skills in any programming language (Java is a plus)
- Good understanding of containerized microservices architecture
- Understanding of REST, NETConf would be a plus
- Understanding of Kafka would be a plus

Team: AOS – Abstraction and Orchestration Services
The AOS team is responsible for abstracting and orchestrating network service configuration for a multi-vendor Global Network supporting Equinix Digital Services. We use a API first approach to providing provisioning using vendor agnostic models and interfaces that support NetConf/RESTConf and OpenConfig.
Role: The intern role will involve enhancing and adding features to the Java based microservices that form the Network Abstraction Layer and providing APIs that can be used by Equinix Digital Services for provisioning and monitoring network resources.
