Being the longest employed developer in Cracow, let me do a statement about working here. When I started, there were 3 other developers and 1 product/solution. Within 2,5 years the development team grew (at least) 5 times and developed 3 new solutions (...and a lot of new features, and a nearly complete rewrite of 1 of Platform module mentioned nowhere before, and a complete move towards cloud, and globalization... the list can go on and on). This all could not have been achieved if the team and our development organization was not working fine. What is more, that all was achieved by people who were definitely deep into technology (considerably modern stack) and into 'moving pieces into right direction regardless of obstacles', and not by people who 'played political games'. And yes, within that time span mistakes were made, on lower or higher level, but decisions were always taken with the best intentions for the team as well as company's growth and success. The company never hid that the greatest asset is the development team, composed of people from various places of the world, sometimes difficult people, sometimes poeple who needed (and deserved!) more help and attention, or sometimes (actually most often) 'just' great developers with passion to learn and code... and this team - day by day, line of code after line of code has been lifting Avantida to the heights of technological and operational excellence.
I've been working here for 1.5 years and have totally opposite impression from the comment below. Through my career of software engineer I've changed about 5 companies and here I had the best management ever, with very individual and considered approach. You could observe some political games only on a global level, because the company is multinational and it's normal if you want to position/grow your department in certain country. But I never noticed any games on a company level, it's vice versa - any team member (if he cares) is aware of what's happening within the company in any aspects. Few words about Krakow office: structure here is flat, there are not so many people and any value that you bring to the project is highly appreciated, although you should play along with the team, as everywhere. If you used to work in outsourcing/big companies where everything is decided for you and only routines are left - it is not this kind of place. If you want to fulfil your ambitions/vision/whatever_potential_or_ideas_you_have and want to feel support from management and the team - this will be certainly a good spot for you. I personally came from outsourcing company and felt a good personal growth here thanks to colleagues that created a family-like atmosphere and management (many thanks to Jeroen). I wish you to have the same experience :)
W żadnej innej firmie management tak chętnie i ochoczo nie ustawia ludzi przeciwko sobie oraz gra w polityczne gierki i korporacyjne podchody.
