I would like to present Capsbook from a slightly different perspective than the one shown in its promotional materials. The idea itself is interesting, and the price of PLN 99 per night for one person is undoubtedly a major advantage. However, before making a reservation, it is worth knowing what a stay actually looks like in practice.
The facility consists of six capsules. When fully occupied, sleeping comfort is significantly limited. Each capsule is separated only by a curtain, which provides neither real privacy nor sound insulation. You can hear other guests talking, snoring, entering and leaving, doors closing and even outside noise when it rains. Anyone expecting a peaceful night and conditions comparable to a traditional hotel room may be disappointed.
In my opinion, this is closer to a clean hostel without doors than a hotel offering comfort and privacy. This does not necessarily have to be a disadvantage for everyone, but customers should be fully aware of the standard they are choosing. The low price may justify certain compromises, such as shared bathroom facilities, noise and limited privacy. However, the capsules are not lockable private rooms, so it is worth taking valuable belongings with you when leaving.
I was also surprised by promotional materials and articles referring to efforts to improve sleep quality. I would genuinely like to know what specific solutions have been implemented to improve acoustic comfort, considering that in practice you can hear almost everything happening around you. Declaring that sleep quality is a priority is one thing, but the actual conditions in which guests sleep are another. It would be helpful if the company explained how it intends to address this issue.
Another concern is the company's approach to customer reviews. I have noticed that some comments that are not entirely positive disappear or are no longer visible. This raises questions about whether prospective customers can see a representative range of experiences. Honest business practice should include accepting justified criticism, not just displaying favourable opinions. Customers deserve the opportunity to read different perspectives and form their own conclusions.
I did not make my reservation through Booking.com, so I cannot leave a review there. My Google review, meanwhile, remains pending and is not publicly visible. This is why I decided to share my experience elsewhere. My intention is not to attack the company, but to exercise my right to express an honest opinion about a service I have used. A fair and factual critical review should not be treated less favourably simply because it does not praise the business.
I also have questions about the transparency of this venture. Some of the promotional materials and communication surrounding Capsbook have made me wonder who actually stands behind the business, who manages it and what its ownership structure looks like. I believe this information should be presented clearly and be easy to verify. Customers should know which entity operates the facility, with whom they are entering into an agreement and who is responsible for the service they purchase.
As a customer, I value Polish entrepreneurs and appreciate the creativity, skills and potential of people who develop businesses in Poland. When choosing services, I therefore pay attention not only to price but also to who stands behind a brand and how the business is run. I would welcome greater transparency regarding the people and entities involved in this venture, so that customers can make informed decisions about which businesses they wish to support with their money. This is a matter of consumer awareness rather than an attempt to judge anyone based on their origin.
To sum up, Capsbook is an interesting concept with an attractive price, but it will not provide suitable conditions for everyone. It may be a reasonable option for people who accept noise, shared facilities and limited privacy in exchange for inexpensive accommodation. However, anyone expecting peace, sound insulation and the privacy of a traditional hotel room should carefully consider whether this format meets their needs.
Before making a reservation, I recommend looking beyond the advertising and checking the actual conditions. In my view, transparency about the business operator, an honest approach to customer feedback and the real quality of the service are just as important as an innovative idea and a competitive price. Customers should be able to make their decisions based on complete information and genuine experiences, not solely on the image presented in promotional materials.
