Były pracownik
Working at Beetroot has been a deeply disappointing experience, and I do not recommend this company to others—especially professionals based in Poland.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries are significantly below market standards for the responsibilities expected, and the annual raises of just 1–2% are frankly insulting. Benefits are minimal, limited to basic offerings like Medicover and a Multisport card. The so-called “Christmas bonus” felt more like a joke than a token of appreciation.
Lack of Legal Awareness:
The company operates in Poland yet seems unfamiliar with Polish labor laws. Employees had to push for legally required benefits such as reimbursement for prescription glasses or holiday money. Shockingly, once management became aware of the latter, they simply stripped them away the following year instead of complying long-term.
Cultural Bias & Communication Issues:
While Beetroot brands itself as an “international” company, there is a clear and noticeable favoritism toward Ukrainian employees and culture. Internal communications—including general chat messages—are often in Ukrainian, excluding non-Ukrainian staff and creating a sense of division.
Leadership & Management:
The CEO lacks basic interpersonal skills and regularly makes awkward or inappropriate comments. Additionally, my team leader was both unqualified and disengaged. She often had no idea what was going on, despite wanting to control every detail. Her leadership style was contradictory and ineffective, often claiming we were “all the same” while clearly playing favorites.
Layoffs & Job Security:
In just one year, we experienced three rounds of layoffs. These decisions were made without transparency or fairness—highly experienced professionals were let go, while less competent individuals were retained, seemingly based on personal favoritism. What’s worse, team leader assured us layoffs wouldn't happen—only to fire five people two weeks later.
Career Growth:
There is no room for advancement. If you start as an LQM, you stay as an LQM. Promotions and development opportunities are non-existent, and there is no clear path for professional growth within the organization.
The One Bright Spot:
The only truly competent and caring individual I encountered was a member of the Polish HR team. She seemed genuinely invested in the well-being of employees and often acted as the only reliable point of support.
Final Thoughts:
Beetroot is an outsourcing company, so much depends on the client you're assigned to. Unfortunately, my client was completely disconnected from the reality of living in Poland, operating under the false assumption that Polish employees would be subject to the same economic standards as in Ukraine—leaving us financially strained and undervalued.
Beetroot may have good intentions, but it is fundamentally unprepared to run a business in Poland. Until they address their structural flaws, lack of compliance, and leadership issues, I cannot recommend them to any serious professional.
